Nainital

Nainital is a small hillstation in the lap of the Kumaon Range. It is the city of lakes. Once upon a tome there used to be several huge lakes in Nainital which are now extinct or only flashes of those lakes are left.

The Naini Lake is the most beautiful lake in this region which is surrounded by several other lakes situated closeby. River Ramganga originates from the Doodha Tauli ranges in district Pauri Garhwal. It enters into Nainital, before re-entering into Pauri Garhwal.

Nainital was discovered in 1841 by Lord Baron. Owing to its scenic beauty and magnificent surroundings it was made the Capital of the United Province under the patronization of the Brithish Administrator.
